About the Temple
Introduction
Sri Anjaneya Swamy Temple is a village shrine of Lord Hanuman in Veliminedu, Chityal mandal, Nalgonda district, Telangana. It is listed among the temples under the Telangana Endowments Department, and it is a place of daily worship for the people of Veliminedu and the surrounding villages. Veliminedu lies close to Chityal, near the Hyderabad–Vijayawada highway.
Main Deity and Worship
The presiding deity is Sri Anjaneya Swamy – Lord Hanuman, the greatest devotee of Sri Rama, honoured as the embodiment of strength, courage, wisdom and selfless service. Devotees pray to him for protection from fear and danger, for good health, for success in studies and work, and for relief from the troubles associated with Shani (Saturn).
As at most Anjaneya temples, devotees offer sindhooram (vermilion) and oil to the Lord, make garlands of betel leaves (tamalapaku) and offer vadas. Many recite the Hanuman Chalisa and perform pradakshinas around the shrine to fulfil their vows.
